3rd Generation 1999-2005

The pajero/Montero, wich had already eliminated the on-road and off-road boundary, travesed the evolutionary road to its 3rd generation iteration in 1999. The aim was to distinctly improve the drive quality. From the perspective of thoroughly understanding the vehicle´s own kinematic performance, Mitsubishi reviewed the marque, starting from body structure, and came up with a monocoque body whit built-in ladder frame chassis. Offering both high rigidity and light weight, the new generation Pajero/Montero achieved a low center-of-gravity body balance while maintaining good road clearnace. It also featured a 4-wheel independent suspension that gave each wheel a secure grip on the road surface. With the 3rd generation, Mitsubishi unleashed the marque´s full potential from the fundamentals up and achieved a dramatic leap forward in its kinetic performance.
